Elizabeth Bee
Director of Operations
Elizabeth Bee joined AFRHA as an accreditation consultant in late 2004. In September 2008 she became an important part of the management team and in April 2009 she stepped up to her current position of Director of Operations.
In her current role, Elizabeth is personally responsible for managing the non-clinical activities of more than 250 retirement, residential and community care clients. During her near-decade in aged care, Elizabeth has worked hard to stay up-to-date with the latest industry techniques and practices.
Since 2000, she has completed her Aged Care Quality Assessor training, Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training, Certificate IV in Business (HR Management), Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management) and several training courses with the Australian Institute for Care Development (AICD). Since 2003, Elizabeth has also taken a lead role in helping many Queensland and interstate facilities implement more efficient electronic aged care management systems.
Prior to joining AFRHA, Elizabeth worked for the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). Elizabeth’s experience in administration and quality management roles has allowed her to help AFRHA streamline its services to become a dynamic aged care provider.
Helena Curran
Director of Care
Helena Curran was appointed Director of Care in April 2009 as part of the restructure implemented by the CEO. Helena had been on staff at Finlandia Village as a registered nurse since late 2007 and had been undertaking human resource management and staff development functions in the residential care facility.
In her role as Director of Care, Helena is responsible for all clinical and care functions in all three AFRHA business activities – community care, retirement living and residential aged care. Not only does Helena bring to this role her extensive experience and knowledge as a registered nurse, but she has strong connections with the Finnish community and is committed to providing outstanding person-centred care to our residents and clients.
Helena is a key member of AFRHA’s senior management team and her Finnish background and language skills are vital to the social and cultural aspects of care that are so important in our facility.
