1. Is there a waiting list for the Retirement Village?
People who are interested in purchasing a Villa can leave their contact details at the office. The Villas are sold by the Australian Finnish Rest Home association and prospective buyers on the list will be contacted once a Villa comes to the market.
2. Under what kind of tenure are the villas sold?
This village operates under Licence to occupy scheme.
3. How many units are there in the village and how big are they?
There are only 23 units in the village. Ten of these are duplexes and the rest are separate houses. There is an indoor heated swimming pool complex with two saunas and BBQ area for resident use.
All the units have 2 bedrooms, a large garage, bathroom with wheelchair access, open plan living and dining area and a covered patio.
4. What costs are there?
On signing the Licence Agreement resident pays the ingoing contribution (licence fee). During their occupancy residents pay ongoing general service charges to cover the costs of providing the village services that are supplied.
When the resident leaves the village, the reinstatement costs for the Villa will be shared between and resident and operator. Exit fees are payable when villa is sold and these are detailed in the resident contract.
5. What does the General services fee cover?
This weekly fee covers the services supplied to the residents eg. management and administration costs, gardening and general maintenance.
6. Can the Villa residents have access to any services at Finlandia Village?
Yes, the Australian Finnish Rest Home Association can provide Villa residents a wide range of services through its residential care or home care sectors.
Meals can be ordered from Finlandia Village kitchen, FinnCare can offer domestic assistance, shopping and transport help. Finlandia Village therapy department welcomes Villa residents into all the activities on offer including our extensive physical therapy program at the well equipped gym.
